What should I wear?
You will be given a large bath towel to wrap around your body and a smaller towel on which to sit while you are in the sauna. While you are in the sauna you may choose to remove your towel. Please be considerate, aware and respective of others’ privacy. Ensure that you wear your towel and are modestly covered whilst you are in any area other than the pool, showers or sauna.
What’s the best way to take a sauna?
If you’ve never gone to a sauna before here are some suggestions on how to go about your first visit:
- Drink plenty of water and have a shower before entering the sauna.
- Stay 5-10 minutes in the sauna but leave sooner if you begin to feel anxious or uncomfortable.
- Upon leaving the sauna, take a cold shower to close your pores.
- If you feel brave, go into the plunge pool for 30 seconds.
- Have a drink of water and sit in the lounge area for a few minutes and then repeat the process again!
Do men and women attend the sauna at the same time?
On Mondays the sauna is for men only, and on Tuesdays it is open only to women. The rest of the week both men and women may attend at the same time.
