Lynda Miers-Henneveld

Lynda has been teaching Hatha yoga in Wellington since 1996. She was initially trained in the Iyengar style of Hatha Yoga, which helped her to develop a thorough understanding of the alignment principles of the practice. Lynda draws inspiration from the teachings of Donna Farhi, Judith Lasater and Nicky Knoff. She aims to create a safe and supportive environment in which students are free to explore their own experience of yoga.

Lynda’s personal teaching style combines active and restorative sequences to create a balanced and rounded practice for students of all levels.

Lynda completed a two year teaching apprenticeship through the New Zealand School of Yoga in 1999. She holds a Certificate of Fitness Management from the University of Otago (2001), as well as Nicky Knoff’s Foundation Certificate (350hrs – 2005). She attended Judith Lasater’s Yoga Therapeutics teacher training in Restorative Yoga postures in 2006.

meKelly Fisher, E-RYT 200

Kelly combines elements of Anusara, Iyengar, Astanga and Prana Vinyasa Flow to create a class that emphasizes the basics while offering some innovative flair.

Kelly’s teaching style is based on her personal experience of discovering the freedom to listen to her own body. She uses movement and music to help her students to develop strength and flexibility in a creative way. Each class also contains elements of meditation and breathwork to round out the practice.

In addition to teaching group classes, Kelly offers private one-on-one sessions intended for therapeutic purposes or to focus on particular elements of the practice. She also runs occasional workshops and specialised courses for specific interest groups such as Breast Cancer survivors and those that are interested in early morning practices.

Kelly’s yoga training includes Nicky Knoff’s Foundation Certificate (350hrs – 2005), Shiva Rea’s Prana Vinyasa Immersion Program (120hrs – 2006) and ongoing study with various teachers including Simon Borg-Olivier, Desiree Rumbaugh, Shiva Rea, Twee Merrigan and BJ Galvan. She also holds a Bachelor of Neuropsychology and has studied health and nutrition extensively. Kelly has been certified by the Yoga Alliance.
