Greg has been practising yoga for seventeen years and teaching for ten. He originally qualified with a Yoga Diploma from the Sivananda Vedanta Centre in India and has since trained in Astanga yoga, as well as obtaining the Yin Yoga teaching certificate from Paul Grilly and Sarah Powers. He had just returned to Wellington after living in London for ten years where he developed a wide and varied teaching practice which included regular workshops and intensive yoga holidays with a number of his personal students going on to become teachers themselves.
Out of extensive study and the continuing development of his own practice, Greg has developed an energetic, flowing style of yoga that students have found to be extremely beneficial to their overall sense of well being as well as helping them improve their mobility and strength.
Like many people, Greg originally came to yoga because he suffered from a back pain. His back improved and he became hooked on yoga. Knowing how the spine works, especially the lower back has become a focus of his teaching and has helped others with similar problems. He has developed techniques to show people how to strengthen and mobilise their joints safely and finds that having a physical objective to focus on can be an extremely beneficial way to learn physical and energetic awareness, which leads to better concentration and in turn to a deeper integration of mind, body and spirit.
